GLIMPSE OF SURAJKUND MELA

SURAJKUND MELA is one thing I love about February. It is a 15 day carnival which has splash of colours, rhythm of drum beats, authentic cuisines and everything related to textile and handicrafts.

This the 31st edition and the theme state chosen for the mela is Jharkhand. The mela is hosted by the Haryana Tourism Corporation.

WHAT YOU WILL FIND

-Handicrafts, handlooms, cuisine, culture and dance form of the theme State.

-Folk dance and cultural groups of all the states of India and many international countries.

-Different variety of pottery, paintings and furniture

-All kinds of fabric, kolapuri chappals etc;

HOW TO SHOP

If you are a good shopper the definitely you know how to bargain. Obviously, they tend to ask for higher prices which is totally not worth so bargain a bit and also let the artisans make some profit :)

WHAT YOU GET TO EAT

‚ÄčIt is one place where you can fulfil all you cravings, be it Rajasthani food, typical north indian cuisine, any kind of chaat, desserts or even international cuisines like falafel. You get them all.

WHAT TO WEAR

While visiting here, shoes are you best friend and try to wear the most comfortable clothes. I came directly

from work so that was my go to attire but ditched my heels for shoes.

You can see few glimpse of what it looks like from inside:
